Whether you visited LCIC for 25 minutes or have been planted here for the past 25 years or anything in between (which is probably the majority of us ) you have made a difference.
Perhaps this church helped lead you to the Lord. You made a difference by becoming a child of God!
Perhaps this church helped you overcome a defeated mindset, habit or addiction. You made a difference by letting God work in you.
Perhaps this church (or I personally) let you down! Yes, we’ve made many mistakes over the years. You made a difference by helping me and our team face our failures and ask God to make us better.
Perhaps this church just wasn’t the right fit for you at the time. You made a difference in the church you ended up becoming a member of.
So, I want to thank YOU! Your presence, your generous gifts and volunteerism, your smile, you’re reaching out and inviting a friend—has helped make this church what it is today—
A place where love never stops; where God’s faithfulness never fails, where grace never ends.
A place of second chances. We all need one or two or three more of those, right?
A place of purpose—you truly find your purpose when you’re planted in God’s house.
A place of mission—to introduce people to the real Jesus—the Savior, Healer, and best friend any of us could ever have.
As I mentioned above, I also want to say, I’m sorry, for not having been a better pastor and leader to you. When we started, I was coming out of a very damaged place in my soul. I came from a very dark past and was eager to RUN to the light and become a radical, sold out Christian. In doing so, I learned a lot of unhealthy ‘religion’ and though we still saw many great things happen by God’s grace, I was immature, and harsh and needed a lot of development (still do). Not really a breaking newsflash, right? Haha!
But, so many of you had patience on this young pastor, and gave me more than one chance. Perhaps I gave you more than one chance too, so we’re even.
But, I guess that’s just a part of growing in God’s grace. And by His grace, and only by His grace, we’re still standing!
Regardless of your experience here, I would love to have another chance to experience God’s grace with you.
Regardless of your history here—you are a precious part of the wonderful story of this church family. And I would love to see you again BEFORE we see each other in heaven!
Will you join me for our 25th church anniversary, Sunday October 28th? I would love to have you, see you and pray together for an amazing future, no matter what it holds for you and me.
I can’t thank you enough for believing in Life Changers. Just by walking through our doors, you made this a brighter place, regardless of how long you stayed. Of course, every pastor wants everyone to stay until Jesus returns, but I’m honored to have been a part of your life and would love to continue to be.
In His Mighty Love,
Gregory Dickow
