God’s Love Story of You
Gregory Dickow
I don’t have a complicated message: I want to encourage people with the good news of God’s unconditional love—and to see that reality change their thinking and their emotions.
God’s Love Story of You

No matter what is happening in your life right now, the story of your life isn’t over yet. Resurrection always comes in the darkest moments because of the power of the Cross. You are God’s love story, and you can expect your life to keep getting better and better because of His love, beginning today!

Your life is a story, and God Himself is the Author. No matter what is going on in your life right now, it doesn’t end there. Your latter days are going to be greater than the former days. Your story doesn’t end in the former days. Be encouraged because your best days are ahead!

Haggai 2:9 in the Amplified Bible says, “‘The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘and in this place I shall give [the ultimate] peace and prosperity,’ declares the Lord of hosts.”

This verse tells us God has given us the ultimate peace and prosperity through what Jesus has done for us. Remember, God is always making things better. He takes us from the Old Testament to the new, better one. He takes us from curse to blessing and from sickness to health!

Everything in the Bible is a story that unfolds. But sometimes, we only read it line by line and expect life to be that way. For example, God intended all of the scriptures to reveal Jesus—that He would come to die, be buried, and rise from the dead on the third day. The Bible describes all of that in three or four verses. Yet it took four thousand years to unfold!

Our lives are just like the scriptures. Sometimes we want God to sum up our lives in three or four verses, but it takes time. We can give ourselves, others, and God time to work out His story in our lives! He is faithful. We can give God time to work it out for good because He promises it will get better.

What I want you to notice is, just like Jesus’ life, our lives are God’s story because He is the Author. Since He always makes things better, we can trust Him and be assured and confident that our best days are ahead!

Look at this passage in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4: “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.”

Aren’t you glad that this passage doesn’t end with Christ died for our sins? Aren’t you grateful it doesn’t end with He was buried but goes on to include that God raised Him from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures?

And if you read on, you’ll see the story of Paul doesn’t end in regret, shame, or guilt of past mistakes. Praise God the story of Jesus didn’t end in death and Paul’s story didn’t end in regret. Neither does yours!

Our lives are a story that God is authoring. We find ourselves in His-story. And His-story is alive and unfolding. Wherever you are in life at this moment, the story doesn’t end there. His-story gets better, and yours does too—because YOU are God’s love story.

It doesn’t matter how it looks right now; your story isn’t over.

Are you in pain? The story doesn’t end there.

Are you worried? The story doesn’t end there.

Are you nervous? The story doesn’t end there.

Are you having a bad day, year, decade, or a bad life? The story doesn’t end there!

It doesn’t end with you broke, it doesn’t end with you broken, and it certainly doesn’t end with a broken heart.

There may be a chapter or two of your life with those things—but no matter which one you’re in, your story doesn’t end there. The magnificent, good news is that, in Jesus Christ, your story turns out good—beyond all you could ever ask for or imagine!

Hebrews 12:2 says, “Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Jesus is both the Author and Finisher of your part in God’s story. He started it out, and He brings your story home.

Philippians 1:6 says, “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Remember, this is a love story. It starts with love, and it ends with love. It begins with God’s love, and it ends with His love. Are you ready for the end of the story, which is His love? Yours is going to end with love!

Your only job right now is to trust in that love right where you are, and when you do, everything’s going to be alright!
