Forgiveness, favor, provision . . . these are just a few of the gifts God gives us—no strings attached. I wanted to take a second to share with you one of my favorite gifts from God: healing!
Sozo. This is a Greek word we see in the Bible. In some places, this is the word used for salvation. In other places, it’s the word used for healing. When Jesus died for our salvation, He also died for our healing (and MANY more things).
The word sozo is used for both salvation and healing, so that when we say, “by His stripes I am healed”, we know that we have already been given that gift—just like we’ve been given the gift of salvation. Our salvation and healing were purchased at the same time (Jesus’ death on the cross) through the same blood (the blood of Jesus).
Maybe you’re wondering if there’s something specific you have to do in order to receive the gift of healing… I’ll be the first to tell you—NO! You just get to be yourself—loved by God. You received salvation by believing in Jesus with your heart and saying it outloud with your mouth; that’s how you receive healing too. Salvation + healing = sozo. Salvation is here and so is healing!
