How to Pray with Boldness
Gregory Dickow
I don’t have a complicated message: I want to encourage people with the good news of God’s unconditional love—and to see that reality change their thinking and their emotions.
How to Pray with Boldness

I’m going ask you to be bold today! I’m going ask you to be daring – to expect more in your life – to believe for more than you’ve ever believed for before!

In Hebrews 4:16 Paul says: “Let us come boldly to the throne of His grace, so that we might obtain mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

Aren’t you tired of living below your God-given rights and privileges?

Ephesians 3:20 says “God is able to do exceeding abundantly above and beyond all that you can ask or think according the power that works within us.”

How bold and daring are you willing to be?

After God created Adam and Eve, the FIRST thing He did was: “He BLESSED them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and rule it.” (Genesis 1:28).

But Satan has done everything he can to try to stop us from asking or expecting this blessing in our daily lives. It is God’s will that you and I live in the fullness of the Blessed life that God intended. It’s a life of empowerment; a life of the victory; a life of increase; and a life of impact and success.

  • The Blessed Life is when your body is getting better because the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells inside your body;
  • The Blessed Life is when you get stronger even when you get older;
  • The Blessed Life is always having the right thing to say at the right time;
  • The Blessed Life is making an impact in the lives of those around you;
  • The Blessed Life is having God’s favor surrounding you like a shield;
  • The Blessed Life is having God’s power to deal with whatever you’re facing in life today.

The Blessed Life is also:

  1. God’s idea.
  2. God’s will for your life.
  3. Essential to fulfill God’s purpose for your life.

God doesn’t call you to do anything in life without giving you the equipment to do it. The Blessing is that equipment. It empowers us to do what God calls us to do.

So where do we start? What’s the next step to this kind of life? It starts with a choice. God has given us the power to choose the Blessed life. And it’s time to make that choice. Deuteronomy 30:19 says: “I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life…”

Jesus paid for it. Now it’s up to us to ask for & receive it!

Jabez is the perfect example of someone who made a choice to live the Blessed life. His name means “pain”! (1 Chronicles 4:9). He was accustomed to a life of pain. But the Bible tells us that he didn’t let his pain define him. He made a choice. He refused to accept a life of cursing and pain. So he prayed BOLDLY “… saying, ‘Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted his request.‘” 1 Chronicles 4:10.

Like Jabez, we have to REFUSE to accept a life of curses and pain. We must CHOOSE the Blessed life, by boldly asking for it, without guilt of shame. Jesus shed His blood so we could boldly go before the throne of God (Hebrews 10:19), and receive all that He promised!

No matter what has defined our past, we REFUSE to let it define our future! Choose today:

  1. I’m going to go boldly to God and ask for His blessing.
  2. I’m going to break out of the confinement of my past and my pain.
  3. I’m going to rise above my circumstances and live beyond my limitations.

It is time to go beyond your pain and step into the Blessed life! Jesus bore your pain so you don’t have to live in it any longer. The pain that defined your past will no longer control your present!

The Blessed Life begins with a choice. The Blessed Life begins with a BOLD prayer for God’s blessing and a BOLD request that He release you from the pain that you feel. With God’s blessing in your life, you can do what God has called you to do.

Jesus said: Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full! John 16:24. God wants you to ask BOLDLY for the Blessed Life. He is ready to do “exceeding abundantly above and beyond all that we ask or think.” Ephesians 3:20.
